The Mavericks Defeat the Thunderwolves for Seventh Consecutive RMAC Win

Grand Junction, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa women's lacrosse team defeated CSU-Pueblo in a RMAC matchup Sunday afternoon 18-4 for their seventh consecutive win.
 
The Mavericks (10-4 overall, 9-1 RMAC) were led by Kiley Davis who took ten shots and had four goals along with two assists while Melanie Evans chipped in four assists and had one goal. Ashton Whittle, Brianna Anderson, and Brooke Vafi each had two goals apiece and Taylor Jakeman added two assists and a goal to her name while seven other Mavericks scored one goal each.
 
The Mavericks kept the Thunderwolves (3-12 overall, 3-8 RMAC) to one goal per period and had a 49-14 advantage in total shots. The Mavericks caused 21 of Pueblo's 32 turnovers as the Mavericks committed just 10 – Whittle caused five of Pueblo's turnovers.
 
Lula Mitchell had five saves in the net and only allowed three goals.
 
After an outstanding four-goal game, Davis is pulling away in goals with a total of 37 as Jakeman follows behind with 31. The Mavericks have 206 goals on the season with 281 shots on goal to have a .708 shot on goal percentage.
 
Emily Eller and Sedona Sargent scored two goals apiece for the Thunderwolves. Each goal was unassisted for Pueblo.
 
The Mavericks are on a 13-game win streak against the Thunderwolves while keeping Pueblo to zero wins in matchup history.
 
The Mavericks will head back home to finish out the regular conference season on Community Hospital Unity Field Thursday, Apr. 28 at 2:00 p.m. against UCCS and Saturday, Apr. 30 at 1:00 p.m. versus #4 Regis.
