Box Score LAS VEGAS, N.M. – The No. 12 Colorado Mesa baseball team completed the four-game sweep of the New Mexico Highlands Cowboys on Sunday (Apr. 24) after an 18-3 win in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action at Brandt Field.
For the offense, it was senior
Jordan Stubbings' turn to swing a hot bat for the day. The Parker native went 5-for-5 with a career best seven runs driven in. He had a three-run double in the first inning and a RBI double in the fourth inning as a part of his onslaught.
Caleb Farmer continued a solid weekend going 4-for-5 with three runs scored and two runs driven in. The senior added a pair of doubles and swiped two bases in the win.
Chase Hamilton finished with three hits and three runs scored while
Julian Boyd went 2-for-3 with five runs scored.
Spencer Bramwell was 2-for-4 with four runs scored and hit his fifth home run of the weekend.
Colorado Mesa went with another opener situation in game four and gave the ball to
Joey Mazzetti. The Corona, Calif. Gave the Mavericks enough, going three innings and limiting the Cowboys to three runs on three hits, walked one and struck out two.
Mazzetti turned over the ball to
Ryan Day for the middle innings of work. Day earned the win and moved to 4-0 on the season after pitching five shutout innings of relief and allowed just four hits and struck out one.
Josh Danyliw pitched a scoreless ninth inning.
The Mavericks will continue their road trip next weekend when they travel to Lakewood for the final regular season road trip.
