Denver, Colo. --- The Colorado Mesa (4-4) women's lacrosse team battled and fell short, 10-17, to No. 7 Regis on the road in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matchup Friday afternoon.

Ali Bryant and
Kiley Davis net two goals each with Evans adding two assists to her name. With 12 seconds left of the first period, Ohngemach found the back of the net to avoid a scoreless period.
At the 9:46 mark, Evans received the first goal of the second period and her first of the night in hopes to give the Mavs a change of momentum against the Rangers.
Entering the fourth period Davis scored two goals less than a minute apart to shorten the Rangers lead, putting her at 20 goals on the season. The Mavericks put more pressure on goal in the final period, outscoring the Rangers 5-4 but was not enough to take the lead.
The Mavericks came on top with saves over the No. 7 ranked team,
Shannon Murphy with a season best seven saves. CMU held the edge in draw controls 18-13, with Bryant leading the Mavs with ten.
Regis held a 38-22 advantage in shots, causing 23 turnovers throughout the 60 minutes of action. Â Kyleigh Peoples finished with five goals and an assist, Alexis Parker credited with four goals.
The Mavericks look to bounce back on Sunday at 1 p.m. against UCCS in Colorado Springs.
