FRESNO, Calif.— The Colorado Mesa University men's tennis team ended their 4-match spring break trip to California with a 7-0 defeat at the hands of a streaking University of Hawai'i-Hilo Vulcan squad on Tuesday.
The Mavericks fell to 3-13 with the loss, their fifth straight, while the Vulcans won their fifth straight match to improve to 6-8.
Jorge Abreu and
Tegan Hartman were the Mavs' lone winners on the day as they won a 6-3 No. 3 doubles match over Luka Hamano and Joshua Liu. However, the Vulcans won the first and third doubles matches and then swept the six singles matches in dominating fashion.
The Vulcans are the defending Pacific West Conference and NCAA Division II West Region Champions.
