GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Friday evening's Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matchup determined who would be the Rocky Division champion. The Colorado Mesa (5-0-1, 5-0-1 RMAC) men's soccer team left no doubt, scoring a season high five-goals to take home the division title, and earn a share of the overall conference regular season title as well.

Alec Fronapfel netted his third and fourth goals of the season, scoring in the 13
th minute and again just before the 60-minute mark.
Ramses Atahualpa made it back-to-back games with a goal, scoring just 32-seconds into the game.
John Roberts picked up his first goal, while
Gabriel Peres nabbed his second of the season to round out the Maverick scorers.
Regis took nine shots total, four targeted at the goal.
Brendan Brown was behind three of those shots and picked up his fifth shutout of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Atahualpa, who scored the game winner against Westminster in the 104
th minute, scored in just 32-seconds Friday evening cutting through defenders and curving the ball around the Ranger goalkeeper to put the Mavericks up early.
In the 13
th minute,
Daisuke Takanaka found an open lane towards the goal, and appeared as though he would be the one to score but passed it back at the last second to Alec Fronpafel who was waiting to tap it in for the team's second goal.
The Mavericks third goal was similar to the second, this time with
Joey Joiner,
Tristan Widic and
John Roberts joining together and getting in on the scoring. Roberts would make the final touch into the goal, with Joiner and Widic tapping it around the defenders and making the goalkeeper guess where the ball would land.
Fronapfel found the twine for the second time in the 59
th minute, heading it over the Ranger's last line of defense on pass from Atahualpa.
Peres would push the Mavs to five, making the Rangers regret giving up a free kick opportunity. Located midway between the goal box and the half line, Peres set up and took a powerful strike on the ball and curved it into the top left portion of the goal.
