POCATELLO, Idaho— The Colorado Mesa University women's tennis team saw their first-ever 6-0 start come to an end on Saturday as the Mavericks dropped a pair of 7-0 decisions at NCAA Division Idaho State here in the Bengals' Reed Gym on Saturday.
The Bengals are now 4-2 on the season while the Mavericks will enter PacWest Conference play on Mar. 5 with a 6-2 overall record.
The Mavericks failed to win a set in either match although No. 1 singles player
Issy Coman came the closest. The freshman dropped a pair of 6-4 sets to Hristina Cvetkovic in the morning match before falling 6-2, 7-5 to the Bengals' Alexandra Arkhipov in the afternoon.
