Salt Lake City, Utah. – The Colorado Mesa women's soccer team were taken into overtime for the fourth time this season, coming up short in the conference closer, 2-1 to the Westminster Griffins. Despite the loss, they secure a share of the conference regular season title with UCCS who defeated CSU Pueblo earlier this evening, 4-2.
The Mavericks took nine shots on goal, but the Griffins took more shots on the night. 
Chloe Dody made four saves, Kelsea Cracroft tallying eight for her team. 
Lila Dere was 4-for-4 in shots and shots on goal, 
Lexi Newton and 
Sophia Beames adding three a piece as the Mavs primary shot takers.
Newton put the Mavs ahead in the 25
th-minute, the goal the third for the senior this season. After some crafty ball handling, the Grand Junction local cut it back setting herself up, striking the ball out of Cracroft's reach.
Colorado Mesa would fend off their opponents threats up until the 82
nd minute when the Griffins scored to tie it up.
The decisive goal would come just a minute and a half into overtime off the foot of Cassidy Orr as the Griffins handed the Mavs their first loss since the beginning of the season, falling 1-0 at CSU Pueblo.
As the No. 1 seed, the team will take on Fort Lewis who entered the post season conversation as the No. 8 seed in the upcoming RMAC tournament quarterfinal. That game will take place on Sunday, Nov. 7 at 12 p.m. on Maverick Field.
