Late Goal Gives Mavericks Win over Adams State

Alamosa, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa women's soccer team came from behind in Sunday's conference matchup against Adams State, to complete the weekend 2-0, and extend their win streak to nine.

The Mavericks took 16 shots to the Grizzlies six, placing nine on target. They also held a 9-4 advantage in corner kicks, while Chloe Dody allowed just one goal on five saves.

Kylie Chavez scored for the Grizzlies in the 17th-minute to take the lead.

Haley Klasner would provide the response in the 23rd minute, teaming up with Lila Dere to even up the score. The Mavs would place the final three shots of the half on goal, as the teams headed into the break tied up at one.

With the clock winding down, the eventual game winner would come in the 82nd-minute as Sydney Hathaway made contact right in front of the goal, tallying her first of the season.

Dody would make a save 30-seconds later, that being the final threat by the Grizzlies.

Colorado Mesa continues their three-game road swing at Westminster, Wednesday Nov. 3 and will also serve as their final regular season match. They have already clinched a spot in the RMAC Tournament, but await their seeding following Wednesday.
