GAFFNEY, S.C. – The No. 7 ranked Colorado Mesa women's wrestling team passed their tune-up test with flying colors heading into tomorrow's national tri-dual. The Mavericks defeated both Ferrum College and No. 14 ranked Limestone 36-5 on Saturday. Check out the brief recaps below:
#7 Colorado Mesa 36, Ferrum 5
The Mavericks won three of the four contested bouts on their way to the 36-5 win in the season opener. They also benefitted from five forfeits while 109-pounds went down as a double forfeit.
Freshman
Holly Beaudoin earned her first collegiate win after a 10-0 technical fall of Katrina Anderson at 130 pounds. Fellow freshman
Tristan Kelly picked up a 10-0 technical fall win over Morganne Flinkstrom at 170 pounds for her first collegiate win.
Sophomore
Jennesis Martinez earned the only other contested win in the dual. Martinez picked up a 13-6 decision over Katerina Pendergrass to open the match at 101 pounds.

The Mavericks win five of the six contested bouts en route to the 36-5 win in the second dual to improve the season record to 2-0. They received just three forfeit victories in the dual and once again had a double forfeit at 109 pounds.
Freshman
Zoe Gress and
Isabeau Shalack made their debuts in the dual and didn't disappoint. Gress was surgical in her 11-0 technical fall win over RachelAnn Cathcart at 155 pounds while Shalack pinned Kalani Rivas at the 2:11 mark of the bout for their first collegiate wins.
Beaudoin and Kelly each picked up their second contested wins of the season while
Marissa Gallegos wrestled her way to a 12-1 technical fall win at 123 pounds for her first contested win of the season. Kelly's win came against No. 8 ranked at 155 pounds Caitlyn Gilmore, a 10-0 technical fall.
