COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Colorado Mesa University freshman
Katerina Matoskova has been named as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's Women's Swimmer of the Week, it was announced by conference officials on Thursday afternoon.
She won the 200-yard freestyle and placed second in both the 200 back and 200 medley relay helping lead the Mavericks in their dual at Division I Northern Colorado last Thursday. Her winning time of 1:57.02 (1:56.92-altitude adjusted) in the 200 free ranks her ninth nationally. Her mark of 2:05.89 (2:04.69-altitude adjusted) in the 200 back ranks her fifth in Division II this year and puts her ninth in CMU history.
She is a 2020 graduate of 2020 graduate of Gymnazium Nad Stolou in the Czech Republic.
She is the second Maverick in as many weeks to earn the award joining
Lily Borgenheimer, who was the winner last week.
