YORK, Neb. -- The Colorado Mesa women's wrestling team continued its dual meet success by winning the York Duals with a perfect 4-0 record on the day. The Mavericks took down a pair of highly ranked NAIA teams on the day and moved their dual record to 7-3 on the season.

In the first match in the Gold/Championship Pool, the Mavericks defeated the NAIA's seventh-ranked team in Cumberlands from Kentucky, 33-11. Colorado Mesa won seven of the nine bouts (double forfeit at 191) including three pins.
Anja Tschohl picked up her second pin of the day in 1:10 over Madison Angelito at 116 pounds while
Marissa Gallegos earned a pin in 1:49 over Ashley Tobe at 123 pounds.
Alma Mendoza earned her second pin of the day as well at 143 pounds with a 52 second pin of Jessica Torres.

In the final dual of the day, Colorado Mesa earned an impressive 30-16 win over Jamestown (N.D.) who entered the dual ranked No. 3 in the NAIA. The Mavericks won six bouts with three of those coming by pin and they earned two others by forfeit.
Jennesis Martinez finished her day 4-0 after a pin 5:55, wrestling up at 109 pounds while
Marissa Gallegos closed out her 4-0 day with a technical fall win at 123 pounds over AnnMarie Hidalgo.
Alma Mendoza ended up going 4-0 wrestling between 143 and 155 pounds and closed out the day with a solid pin of Jacqueline Parks in 2:46.
The Mavericks will be back in action tomorrow at the York Open. Wrestling is slated to begin at 9am.Â
