SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Colorado Mesa men's basketball team dropped a tightly contested ball game to the Black Hills State Yellowjackets 73-70 on Tuesday evening at the Young Center in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament Quarterfinal matchup.
The Yellowjackets relied on their three-point shooting on Tuesday as exactly half of their shots came from beyond the arc. They made over 35 percent of those at 10-for-28 on the evening led by the six out of the hand of Dez Stoudamire.

Tommy Nuno kept the Mavericks in it with a team-high 25 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the field. Nuno hit a three-pointer with three seconds left to cut the lead to one at 71-70.
The Mavericks last lead of the game came with 10:02 left in the second half after a Nuno layin to make it 53-52.
Neither team led by more than eight points at any time during the matchup.
Stoudamire led all scorers with 28 points.
Colorado Mesa's record falls to 19-10 on the season while Black Hills State improves to 17-10 and moves onto the semifinals of the RMAC Tournament to face Colorado School of Mines.
