FINDLAY, Ohio – Just one week after recorded the first shutout in school history the nationally ranked Colorado Mesa Mavericks notched their second shutout of the season and second in program history. They defeated Ursuline College 16-0 and allowed zero shots on goals. The Mavericks caused 11 of their team 20 turnovers.
The Mavericks closed out their first road trip 3-0 after sweeping Ohio schools and improving to 8-1 on the season. This game is considered a neutral site game therefor the Mavericks are 2-0 on the road and now 1-0 in neutral site games.
Danielle Simpson had the best game of her two-year career recording five goals, three ground balls, and causing three turnovers. Five other Mavericks recorded two goals.
The Mavs were 5-of-6 on free position shots. Ashton Wittle and Danielle Simpson were a perfect 2-of-2 on each of their attempts.
Kiley Barber recorded the first goal for the Mavs just two minutes into the game. The scoring never let up and Simpson recorded three straight goals within a minute of each other to reach a 10-0 lead with 18:34 remaining in the first half. The Mavericks had 12 of their 16 goals before halftime.
The Arrows did not record a shot until 12:14 remaining in the second half and by that time the Mavericks scored two more goals to hold a 14-0 lead. Simpson recorded the final goal of the game and her career-high fifth goal with under four minutes to play. Her previous career high of four goals was set last year against UCCS.

The Mavericks will resume Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play on March 29th against UCCS in Colorado Springs at 5 pm. They will face CSU Pueblo that same weekend in Pueblo, Colorado on March 31st at 1 pm.
