Findlay, OH. – Only 57 seconds into overtime Mary Koch recorded her fourth goal of the game and gave the Mavericks their first overtime win of the year. The Mavericks improved to 7-1 on the season and are now a perfect 2-0 in road games with one more game remaining in their three game Ohio road trip.
With five ties in the first half the match went back-and-fourth with neither team gaining a lead by more than one goal. The Mavericks' assist leader Paige Elliott scored the initial goal of the game which was the Mavericks only lead until five minutes remaining in the second half.
Findlay answered by scoring two goals to take a lead. Although the Mavericks tied the game the Oiliers never gave up a lead and held a 6-5 lead at the half time.
Koch recorded two of her game-high four goals in the first half.
In the second half the Oilers scored three straight goals and led by four points as the score read 9-5 with 17:11 remaining in regulation. After this the Mavericks scored six goals and took a lead 11-10 with 5:55 remaining in the game. The Oilers equalized the Mavericks lead and the two team went into overtime with a tied score that would last just under a minute.
With just 57 seconds off the clock Koch recorded her fourth goal of the game off an assists from Paige Elliot to give the Mavericks a win in their first overtime test of the season, 12-11.

The Mavericks will close out their spring break trip against Ursuline College on March 22nd at 1pm in a neutral site game that will take place at the campus of Findlay.
Following this game the Mavericks will resume RMAC play against UCCS on Friday March 29 in Colorado Springs.
