Jackson Hole, WY - The CMU Nordic ski team has started strongly at the National Championships in Jackson, WY. March 12 was the 7.5km Classic interval start race. For the women, Hannah Brown skied to an excellent 5th place earning 1st team All-American status an incredible result for a freshman. Also,
Kellie Arthur was 16th and
Riana Boonstra was 22nd. For the men,
Koby Vinson skied into All-American status with a 7th place. Also placing well for the Mavs were
Roan Hall in 16th and
Cal Lindberg in 17th.
The CMU nordic team is had an excellent week at Nationals! The men's team got a fabulous 3rd in the 1.3km freestyle sprint. Leading the Mavs was freshman
Koby Vinson with 7th, followed by Junior
Roan Hall at 9th and
Eivind Roed at 13th. The combined score was enough to get on the poduim for the first time this year! For the women, freshman Hannah Brown led the way again with 16th, followed by
Kellie Arthur in 19th and
Riana Boonstra in 20th. The combined score put the women in 5th place.
On March 15 the CMU Nordic ski team competed in the 15km freestyle mass start at Nationals in Jackson, WY. For the ladies, freshman Hannah Brown led the way with an excellent 9th place followed by
Riana Boonstra in 13th and
Kellie Arthur in 15th. The combined team score was good enough for 4th place, a great result for a team of all freshmen! For the men,
Eivind Roed was the best CMU finisher with 8th place, followed closely by
Koby Vinson in 9th and
Roan Hall in 12th. This resulted in another podium finish for the men, 3rd place! Also competing for CMU was
Parker Cushing in 25th place and
Cal Lindberg in 34th.
