Kiley Barber led the Mavs at the offensive end with five goals while

CMU improved to 5-1 overall and to 2-1 in the RMAC as they wrapped up their season-opening 6-game home stand before heading off to Ohio for three games next week. The Bison fell to 2-3 overall and to 0-2 in RMAC play.
The Mavericks finished with a 39-8 edge in total shots and had 31 of the games 42 ground balls. The recorded 18 caused turnovers from no less than nine different players while freshman?? Net-minder
Cami Huff made four saves in net to improve to 2-0 on the year. She needed to make just one save in the first half but came up with three in the final 6:07 to allow the Mavericks to close out the historic shutout.
Courtney Barnickle had nine saves for OBU in the first half before Lauren Scott came in to play for the second.
Making several point-blank saves, Barnickle was peppered throughout her stint as the Mavericks simply dominated from the start. After goals in the opening five minutes from Elliott and Leonardi, Hayden scored twice just 10 seconds apart to double the lead to 4-0.
Ashton Whittle then scored on a free position shot with 21:01 to go in the first half before Blackwell scored on a Hayden feed just 11 seconds later.
Barber then scored back-to-back goals to extend the lead to 8-0 before a
Danielle Simpson marker with 16:45 left in the first half made it 9-0. Barber then tallied her third goal on an Elliott pass to implement the running clock with 15:25 left in the half.
The Mavs would go on to score six more goals in the rest of the first half before Elliott assisted on each of the Mavs' last four in the second.
Maeve Hungerford and Abigail Wittmer were amongst the goal scorers in that stretch.
The Mavs, who have scored 17.67 goals per game in double figures in all six, will now take their attack on the road facing the Tiffin University Dragons on Monday evening at 6 p.m. EDT (4 p.m. Mountain) in Tiffin, Ohio. Tiffin is 4-2 entering a Saturday afternoon game against No. 8 Regis.
