GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa Maverick women's soccer team (8-7-1, 5-6-1 RMAC) suffered a loss to Dixie State (9-3-4, 7-3-2 RMAC) Friday night at Walker Field due to an own goal scored by a Maverick defender attempting to deflect the ball.
The Trailblazer took 20 shots through the match, which included 15 shots in the second half. The Mavericks took five shots during the game and recorded one shot on goal taken by Lexi Newton.
During the 81st minute in an attempt to stop a Trailblazer cross pass a Mav defender deflected the ball into the Maverick's goal resulting in an own goal.
Kamrie Gunderson played every minute in the net and recorded four saves.

The Mavericks will look to bounce back this Sunday against Westminster at 12:30 pm. Prior to kick off the Mavericks will celebrate the team's seniors as a part of senior day.
