GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The Colorado Mesa women's soccer team (4-4-0, 1-3-0 RMAC) will continue Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matches on the road this weekend against Regis University and Black Hills State University. The Mavericks went 1-3 through the toughest part of their RMAC schedule as they have faced two nationally ranked teams the two previous weekends.
This weekend the Mavs will continue RMAC play on Friday in Denver, Colo. against the Rangers at 3:30 pm on the Regis Match Pitch. The Mavericks will then travel to Spearfish, S.D. on Sunday for a match against Black Hills State at 1 pm on the Theisz Field.

The Mavericks are led by Madison Rasimas who has six points this far into the season. She just recently recorded her second goal of the season against MSU-Denver. She netted the Mavericks only goal of the game to send the match into overtime and she is the only Mav currently with two assists.
Three other Mavericks have recorded multiple goals including Ryanne Parker, Zoe Peterson, and Taylor Jones. No Mavericks has more than two goal this season.
On the defense side of the ball Jocelyn Ceccarelli and Kamrie Gunderson, lead the team in minutes played. Ceccarelli has started every game this year and played more than 700 minutes on the pitch. Gunderson has played every minute this season for the Mavs and tied a career high ten saves last weekend against MSU-Denver.
As a team, the Mavericks defense is limiting opponents to 10.6 shots per game and 52.9 shots on goal percentage. The Mavs have limited their opponents to just 19 corner kicks and have taken 26 attempts.
About Regis
The Rangers are 5-2-1 overall and 3-1-0 against RMAC opponents. The Rangers lost 2-0 to Dixie State for their first loss of conference play, but have defeated Adams State, Fort Lewis, and Westminster.
The Rangers sit third in the conference entering this weekend behind the only two undefeated teams in the RMAC, UCCS and Colorado School of Mines, who both defeated the Mavericks but have yet to play Regis.Â
The Rangers have outscored their opponents 13-7 and recorded three shutouts this year. Two of those shutout came against RMAC opponents..
The Mavericks have not won against her Rangers since 2013 but tied with them twice during the 2015 season. The Rangers have shutout the Mavericks in the last three meetings. Audrey Teague leads the team with four goals and 10 shots on goal. This season she has recorded three game winning goals and has scored her only attempted penalty shot.
In the net Julia Coombs has started, every game recorded 29 saves, and 0.91 goals against average.
About Black Hills State
The Yellowjackets are 1-6-1 on the year and 1-2-1 against RMAC opponents. They are entering the weekend on a two game losing streak after dropping games to Westminster and Dixie State where they were shutout in each match. The Yellowjackets will play Western Colorado on Friday before the game on Sunday against the Mavericks.
So far this season opponents have outshot the Yellowjackets 15-4. Katie Nielson leads the team with three shots and 15 shots. Eight of her shots have been on target for a 53.3 shots on goal percentage. Only one other player has recorded a goal this season for BHSU.
In the net two goalkeepers have split time and have combined for an 82.0 saves percentage and 1.84 goals against average.
