SALT LAKE CITY, Utah- In a highly anticipated match up between two undefeated teams the Mavericks defeated the Griffins 4-2. Both teams entered the match Friday afternoon being undefeated, but only the Mavericks would be able to remain undefeated. The Mavs improve to a 6-0-2 record and Westminster falls to 7-1-1.

Three different Mavericks found the net Friday afternoon.
Kevin Del Mazo netted two goals,
Lawan Abary netted a goal for his ninth goal of the season, and
Connor Lowdermilk found his second goal of the season.

Briley Guarneri recorded his fifth start of the season as goalkeeper for the Mavericks. The Mavericks took three shots before Abary netted the first goal of the night in the fourteenth minute of the match. Westminster did not get a shot attempt before this goal.
Ethan Anderson was awarded the assist. Abary has now netted more goals than games he has played in as a Maverick. The junior juco transfer has now netted nine goals and only played in six matches.

Less than four minutes after Del Mazo netted a goal assisted by
Noah Rosenberg. This is Del Mazo's third goal of the season and he was not done yet.

The Griffins Danny Darelli netted a goal in the thirty-fifth minute to put Westminster on the board.

Entering half time the Mavericks were up 2-1.

Starting the second half the Mavericks did not attempt a shot until Del Mazo's goals in the sixty-second minute. Del Mazo netted his fourth goal of the season and now recorded the game-winning goal in back-to-back games. He netted the game winning goal last weekend against Metro State.
Nick Rizzo claimed the assist.

The Griffins netted another goal in the seventy-eight minute to make the score 3-2 favoring the Mavericks.

Connor Lowdermilk decided to secure the win when he netted his second goal of the season in the last two minutes of this match. Just before the final buzzer, Lowdermilk finalized the score 4-2.
