Mavericks Return to Walker Field

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - After road matches last weekend the Mavericks will return home Sept 28 and 30 for matches against Regis and Black Hills State University, respectively. Friday night's match it set to begin at 7 p.m. and Sunday's match it set to begin at 1 p.m.

The Mavericks will look to improve this weekend after suffering two loses this past weekend. The Mavericks were defeated by Metro State and University of Colorado Colorado Springs. These two teams are some of the best in the RMAC. MSU-Denver, UCCS, and Colorado School of Mines are all tied for first place in the RMAC with 4-0 conference records.

The Mavericks will enter this weekend with a 1-3-0 RMAC record and a 3-4-1 overall record.

Regis University is only one game ahead of the Mavericks with a 2-2 RMAC record and BHSU is one game behind the Mavericks with a 0-4 record RMAC record.

Last weekend the Mavericks took a season high 20 shots against UCCS, on average they are taking 13.6 shots per game.

Alexis Allard leads the Mavericks with points posting six so far this season. This including two goals and two assists.

Three Mavericks have two goals on the season. Lexi Newton and Zoe Peterson have each netted two goals along with Allard.

 

Regis University

The Rangers of Regis University are 3-3-2 overall. The Rangers are currently on a one game losing streak. Last weekend they lost 3-2 to Westminster College. As a team the Rangers are averaging 11.5 shots per game.

Emily Ramos for the Rangers is the team's biggest offensive threat. She currently has seven points on the season, five of those are assist.

The Ranger's goal keeper Julia Coombs has played every minute of action for the Rangers and has recorded 30 saves and allowed seven goals.

Black Hills State University

The Yellow Jackets of Back Hills are currently 0-4 in RMAC play and 0-9 overall.  Before the match with the Mavericks on Sunday the Yellow Jackets are set to play Western State Friday night.

This is only the third meeting between CMU and BHSU. The Mavericks are undefeated when playing the Yellow Jackets and have outscored them 11 to zero.
