Mavericks Defeated by Mountain Lions

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO- The Mavericks finished their second road game of the RMAC season against University of Colorado Colorado Springs on Sunday afternoon. UCCS outscored the Mavericks 5-0. This was the Maverick's third straight loss. The Maverick's record now falls to 3-4-1. The RMAC schedule did not show the Mavericks any mercy by having them play two of the top teams back-to-back. The Mavericks were 0-2 on the weekend and recorded no goals.

Recap

Janelle Richmond-Buccola recorded her third start of the season. After her seven saves this game she now has 19 saves on the season.

The Mavericks took 20 shots and recorded six shots on goal. The Mountain Lions attempted 19 shots and recorded 12 shots on goal. Lauren Thompson attempted seven shots for a team high. Two of her shots were on goal.

UCCS netted two goals in the first half by Ella Fischer and Savannah Mills. The next three goals were netted in the second half. Three different Mountain Lions recorded goals for UCCS.

The Mountain Lions took eight corner kicks and the Mavericks took none. One of these corner kicks resulted in a goal for the Mountain Lions.

Next Up

The Mavericks will return to Walker Field next weekend for games against Regis and Black Hills State. The match against Regis is set for Friday night at 7 p.m. Following this match the Mavericks will play Black Hills State on Sunday at 1 p.m.
