After falling at home to Regis University (RU) earlier in the season, the Mavericks were looking to split the regular season series on Friday afternoon with a game down in Denver. While Colorado Mesa University was looking to come in and win on the Rangers home field, RU was not going to let that happen as they cruised to a 19-7 victory.

The Rangers showed why they are ranked 11
th in the nation early on in the contests. After both teams scored in the opining four minutes of play, the Rangers went on an 8-0 run over the next 15 minutes to take a 9-1 lead.
Olivia Hayden was able to stop the bleeding with just under nine minutes before the first half came to a close. One more score by each team sent the game into the locker room with the Rangers up 10-3.

In the second half, the Mavericks cut into the lead early and cut it down to a five-goal deficit following two
Amanda Geary scores. The Rangers weren't letting it get any closer than that though as they went on to score nine of the final 11 goals of the match to win 19-7.

As a team the Mavericks were just behind the Rangers in most statistical categories. They were outshot 41-31 for the afternoon but won 15 of the 28 draw controls on the afternoon. Defensively, the Mavericks forced the Rangers into 24 turnovers, but committed 27 of their own.

Lindsi Peters was the leading point getter for the Mavericks on the afternoon, finishing with four thanks to two goals and two assists. The four points puts her one point away from 100 career points with CMU. Hayden and Geary tied Peters for the Maverick goal leaders of the game with two apiece. Hayden is now one goal away from 100 in her collegiate career.

The loss moves the Mavericks to 9-3 on the year with two games left to play. CMU will take on CSU-Pueblo on Sunday down in Pueblo, before returning home for their final regular season game against Adams State University next Friday. Game time for Sunday is set for 1 p.m.
