GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa women's tennis team captured a decisive 8-1 victory over CSU-Pueblo in their last home match of the season on Saturday (Apr. 14) at the Elliott Tennis Center in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action.
The Mavericks swept all three doubles matches.
Nicole Kitsuse and
Georgia Hansen defeated Sarah Megilligan and Kristin Jensen in a tiebreaker 9-8 (7-4) at No. 3 doubles.
Colorado Mesa won five of the six singles matches, all in straight sets.
Kristen Kirby continues to impress at No. 1 singles, defeating Kali Hamilton 6-2, 6-2.
Emily Beckley won 6-4, 6-4 over Nia Matthews at No. 2 singles while
Taylor Hershey won 6-3, 6-1 over Sarah Megilligan at No. 4 singles.
Colorado Mesa will play a make-up contest against Colorado Christian on Thursday before playing in the RMAC Tournament. Both will be played in the greater Denver area.
