GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa men's tennis team defeated CSU-Pueblo 6-3 in the final home game of the season at Elliott Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Mavericks won two of the three doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead in the dual. Will Agritelley and
Nick Farmen defeated Thomas Pudney and Ogulcan Deniz at No. 1 doubles 8-6.
Max Lindqvist and
Mitchell Steadman picked up an 8-6 win over David Mould and Cade Boedeker at No. 3 doubles.
Lindqvist's day wasn't over as he was matched up with nationally ranked No. 14 Thomas Pudney at No. 1 singles. The Stockholm, Sweden native defeated Pudney in straight sets 6-2, 7-5 to give the Mavericks a 3-1 lead in the dual. The two are tied in the season series with each winning two matches.
Lucas Martin,
Alain De La Bastide, and Agritelley all won their singles matches in straight sets at No. 3, 4, 5 singles respectively.
Colorado Mesa will play a make-up contest against Colorado Christian on Thursday before playing in the RMAC Tournament. Both will be played in the greater Denver area.
