Colorado Mesa University had its second toughest opponent to date on Saturday, with No. 12 Regis University (RU) coming into town. Despite looking for the upset and trying to move into second place in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) the Mavericks were unable to walk away with a victory. The Rangers won 16-9.

The first half did not go in CMU's favor as the Rangers scored nine goals in the first half to the Mavericks' three. In shots alone, the Rangers outshot CMU 23-11 in the first half with 17 shots on goal.

In the second half, the Mavericks offense was more effective than it was in the first. As a team they finished with four more shots than the Rangers (20-16), but they were still outscored 7-6 in the half.

Amanda Geary was the leading point getter on the day for CMU. She finished with three points thanks to two goals and an assist. Six other Mavericks scored in the contest.

Lula Mitchell started in goal for CMU, and she finished with 15 saves on the afternoon.

With the loss the Mavericks moved to 7-2 on the season and 4-2 in the conference. The Mavericks will head on the road to Durango, Colo. for their next matchup against Fort Lewis. That game will take place on April 8.
