LA MIRADA, Calif. – In the final dual of the Southern California spring break trip, the Colorado Mesa women's tennis team came away with a 6-3 victory over Biola University at the Biola Tennis Center.
Numerous close matches filled the dual with Colorado Mesa coming out on top in a majority.
The two teams began the dual with singles. Colorado Mesa won four of the six singles bouts.
Emily Beckley (No. 2),
Nicole Kitsuse (No. 5) and
Georgia Hansen (No. 6) all won their matches in straight sets to give CMU the lead in the dual.
Rebecca Osterberg had to work a little harder for her win at No. 3. Osterberg dropped the first set of the match but rebounded by winning the final two 6-3, 6-4.
Osterberg and Beckley clinched the match with their win at No. 2 doubles with an 8-6 win over Madison Swaney and Sarah Morgan of Biola.
Hansen and Kitsuse added a win at No. 3 doubles 8-6 over Allison Torres and Tinisee Kandakai.
Colorado Mesa will head over the Rocky Mountains next weekend for a bevy of matches starting on Friday at Division I Northern Colorado on Friday.
