GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa women's basketball team snapped a mini two-game losing streak with a 75-54 win over Adams State on Friday evening in Brownson Arena in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action.
 
The Mavericks limited the Grizzlies to just 20 points in the second half and outrebounded Adams State 36-23 on the night. They are now 12-0 on the season when they outrebound their opponents.
 
Colorado Mesa never trailed in the game and led by as many as 22 points with 1:48 to play in the game after a layup by 
Sydni Brandon to make it 73-51.
 
Adams State shot 50 percent (19-for-38) from the field and made just two three-point baskets on the night. The 50 percent mark is the highest an opponent has shot against the Mavericks this season.
 
Colorado Mesa shot 44.3 percent (27-for-61) from the field including 7-for-20 from beyond the three-point line. They also shot over 82 percent from the free-throw line.
 
Senior 
Erin Reichle led all scorers on the evening with 17 points on 6-of-20 shooting from the field. She added five assists and tied a career-high with four steals.
 
Ma'ata Epenisa added 14 points and 
Jaylyn Duran finished with 11 points to round out the Mavericks in double figures.
 
Sydni Brandon finished with six points and pulled down a team-high seven rebounds off the bench.
 
Colorado Mesa improved to 17-7 on the season and 11-7 in the RMAC while the Grizzlies fell to 5-15 on the year and 3-15 in the conference.
 
The Mavericks will play their final regular season home game tomorrow (Feb. 10) night against RMAC rival Fort Lewis at 5:30pm.
