GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa women's basketball team limited Fort Lewis to just 18 first half points and held on for a 66-52 win on senior night in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action in Brownson Arena.
The Mavericks shot over 60 percent in the first half including 6-for-11 from beyond the three-point line as they built a 45-18 halftime lead.
Colorado Mesa led by as many as 30 points at the 2:54 mark of the second quarter after a jumper by
Katrina Chandler that made the score 45-15.
The Mavericks were outrebounded in the game 35-30 even after they led 20-14 in the first half. The margin helped give Fort Lewis the 12-2 edge in second chance points.
Erin Reichle led all scorers on the evening with 24 points on 9-of-22 shooting from the field in her final regular season home game as a Maverick. She pulled down four rebounds, handed out two assists and had two steals in 36 minutes of action.

Ma'ata Epenisa each finished with 12 points. Epenisa also tied for the game-high with eight rebounds.
Sydni Brandon continued to fill the stat sheet for CMU. Brandon logged a career-high 30 minutes and finished with four points, six assists, three steals, and five rebounds.
Fort Lewis was led by the 13 points of Astrea Reed.
Colorado Mesa improved to 18-7 on the season and 12-7 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference while Fort Lewis fell to 19-6, 13-6 in the conference. The Mavericks moved up to seventh place in the conference still just two games out of second place.
The Mavericks will be on the road for their remaining three games beginning next weekend end when they travel to Black Hills State on Saturday.
