Mavericks Finish Regular Season on the Road

Eleven student-athletes named to All-Academic Honor Roll

The Mavericks will hit the road this weekend for their final matches of the RMAC regular season. The Mavericks are set for matches against Dixie State and Westminster on Thursday and Saturday, respectively. Thursday's match will begin at 7:30 pm in St. George, Utah and Saturday's match will begin at 1:30 pm in Salt Lake City, Utah.  

The Mavericks will enter the weekend 6-5-4 overall and 4-4-3 in the RMAC.

As of this week there are four teams in the RMAC who have clinched a spot in the RMAC Tournament. The Tournament will host a total of eight teams and right now the Mavs sit in the 8th spot with 15 points. Westminster has clinched a RMAC Tournament spot and Dixie State is still seeking theirs. With both these teams ahead of the Mavericks they still have an opportunity to clinch a tournament bid for the third straight year.

After this past weekend Ryanne Parker leads the Mavericks with nine points. She recorded assists in both the Maverick's matches this past weekend. One assist led to the game winning goal against Adams State which was netted by Alexis Allard.

RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll

Earlier this morning the RMAC released the All-Academic First Team and All-Academic Honor Roll for women's soccer. The Mavericks posted eleven student-athletes to the All-Academic Honor Roll. Alexis Allard, Jocelyn Ceccarelli, Jessica Jolley, Madison Jones, Mackenzie King, Hannah Naftanel, Ryanne Parker, Zoe Peterson, Madison Rasimas, Emily Signorio , and Heidi Wendt all represented Colorado Mesa for All-Academic Honor Roll. All these student-athletes have a gpa above 3.3 and have played in a match this year for the Mavericks.

About Dixie State

The Trailblazers of Dixie State are 10-5-0 overall and 6-5-0 in the RMAC. This is the first meeting between the Mavs and the Trailblazers this season. The last time these two teams met was in 2011. The Mavs walked away with a 1-0 victory. Dixie State is out scoring their opponents 26-8 and are limiting their opponents to 0.53 goals per game. They are led by Whitley Johns who has 11 goals on the season and three assists.

About Westminster

The Griffins of Westminster are 11-3-1 overall and 8-2-1 in the RMAC. As a team they average 2.00 goals per game and limiting their opponents to 0.87 goals per game. The Griffins are led by Emma Heyn who has 13 points on the season.
