GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The Mavericks defeated the Grizzlies of Adams State Friday night 1-0 at Walker Field. With this win the Mavericks record improves to 6-5-3 overall and a 4-4-2 RMAC record. Alexis Allard netted a goal late in the second half to seal the win.

Emily Signorio recorded her fourth consecutive start and seventh of the season.
In the first half the Mavericks dominated control of the ball taking 13 shots to the Grizzlies two. The Mavericks took four corner kicks all of which were taken by Madison Rasimas.
After a scoreless first half the Mavericks recorded the lone goal of the game with only seven minutes left of regulation. Zoe Peterson kicked the ball ahead to Ryanne Parker who was center of the goal. Parker spun around defenders and found Alexis Allard who was sprinting by her and to the left with no defender in sight. Alexis Allard was able to control the ball and net her fourth goal of the season. This goal gave the Mavericks there fourth conference win. The Grizzlies did not attempt another shot in the remaining seven miuntes.
With this win the Mavericks improved to the number seven spot in the RMAC standings. They are tied with CSU-Pueblo at 14 conference points.
Mackenzie King took a team high five shots. She was followed by Parker, Allard, and Lauren Thompson who took three apiece.
The Mavericks outshot the Grizzlies 21-5 and forced them to make eight saves all which were recorded by Adams State's goal keeper Corri Zaiger. The Maverick's defense allowed no corner kicks to the Grizzlies and were given eight throughout the entire match.
On Sunday
The Mavericks will host Fort Lewis College on Sunday afternoon at 1 pm. Prior to kick off at 1 pm CMU will honor the team's five seniors for their dedication to the women's soccer program. Fort Lewis College defeated Western Colorado 1-0 Friday night and will enter Sunday's match with a 4-6-0 RMAC record.
