The #16 ranked Colorado Mesa University pulled off the upset on Friday night against #7 ranked St. Edwards. After a scoreless first half the Mavericks came out firing in the second and scored in a time span of two minutes. The first came from 
Benji Delgadillo in the 52nd minute on a cross from 
Kevin Del Mazo, and Delgadillo was able to head it in for the first score of the night. Then in the 54th minute, 
Kevin Del Mazo scored his first of the season off a pass from 
Moshe Perez to the far side post. The two goals was enough for CMU to give them the 2-0 win and their third of the season.
CMU was the aggressor on the offensive end, finishing the game with 12 shots on the day compared to SEU's 5. The Mavericks also finished with 7 more corner kicks than the Hilltoppers (9-2). 
There were 7 yellow cards handed out over the course of the game, 3 of which were handed down to the Mavericks. Perez, Delgadillo and Tentin Atkin were the recipients for CMU. Delgadillo finished the game with the most shot attemps with 4, 2 of which came on goal.
Briley Guarneri got his 3rd clean sheet in as many games, and his 3rd win on the season. He finished the game with 2 saves for the Mavericks.
CMU will look to continue their unbeaten streak against St. Mary's University on Sunday. Game time is set for 12 p.m. at Walker Field.
