Mavericks Look for Win Streak of Three

Rollins College Sept. 14:
Win streak:
Colorado Mesa University will look to extend their win streak to three games against the Sailors. The Mavericks never had a win streak last longer than two games last season.
Maverick keepers:
Through four games the Mavericks have used three different goalies, following Jessica Jolley's two games over the weekend. Jolley is currently the only one with a win for the Mavericks, as she came away with two shutout performances last weekend.
Games against RMAC:
Rollins College plays two games this week against RMAC teams. They played Colorado Christian and lost 1-0 on Tuesday and they get to play CMU on Thursday.
Goals per match:
Colorado Mesa University is averaging 1 goal per game entering Thursday's matchup. Meanwhile, the Sailors are averaging just 0.33 goals per contest.
Players to watch:
Forwards Amanda Wenzel and Yaya Mbengue are the players to watch in this one. Wenzel is currently the leader in points for the Mavericks with 4, while Mbengue leads the Sailors with 2 points. Mbengue's lone goal of the season was a game winner for Rollins College.
 
Westminster College Sept. 17:
Conference play opens:
The Mavericks will open up conference play this week, with the Griffins being their first conference opponent for 2017. Last season the Mavericks went 7-4-1 in the conference.
Last season results:
CMU lost to Westminster last season 1-0 in Grand Junction. The Mavericks were outshot in the game 11-8, including 6-3 in shots on goal. Tiana Cerciello scored the goal for Westminster in the 49th minute to give them the victory.
Road trip:
This game is the second of four straight road games for the Mavericks, with the trip ending on Sept. 24th against UCCS in Colorado Springs.
Conference standings:
CMU enters the week tied for 5th in the conference with a 2-2 record. Meanwhile, the Griffins enter the week tied for the top spot with Colorado School of Mines with a 3-1 record on the year.
Players to watch:
Defender Mackenzie King and forward Ellie Echevario are the players to watch in this one. King was a force on the defensive end last weekend in the Mavericks two home games, including getting an assist against Nebraska-Kearney. Echevario is tied for the team lead in points for the Griffins with 4, after scoring 2 goals through the team's four games.
