LAST WEEKEND
Colorado Mesa took three of four games from the MSU Denver Roadrunners in the final weekend of the season. The Mavericks batted .318 with six home runs and averaged over eight runs per game. They scored a season-high 20 runs in the series opening win on Friday. The pitching staff owned a 2.61 ERA and limited MSU Denver to a .246 batting average.Â
SCOUTING THE TOURNAMENT
Colorado Mesa went 18-4 against RMAC Tournament teams during the conference season. The lone team they did not win the series against was UCCS where they split the games. Colorado Mines enters the tournament as maybe the hottest team sweeping Regis in the final weekend of the regular season.
ALL-RMAC
Colorado Mesa had seven players garner All-RMAC FIrst Team nods including three of the four major awards. Sophomore
Kyle Leahy and redshirt sophomore
Bligh Madris were named the pitcher and player of the year respectively while skipper
Chris Hanks picked up Coach of the Year honors.

TWO BAGGERS
Colorado Mesa ranks fifth nationally in total doubles with 117. Missouri Southern leads the country with 124.
PJ Gonzalez is the team leader in doubles with 20 which ranks 11th nationally in total doubles and No. 1 in the conference. Â
STRIKEOUTS-TO-WALKS
The Mavericks movd up to No. 3 in NCAA Div. II in strikeout-to-walk ratio at 3.26. Florida Southern leads the country at 3.71. Sophomore
Kyle Leahy leads the team and ranks No. 18 with a 6.18 ratio.
REGIONAL RANKINGS
Colorado Mesa remain at No. 2 in the latest NCAA Region Rankings. Angelo is in the top spot with Lubbock Christian No. 3 followed by West Texas, Texas A&M-Kingsville, and Tarleton State. Arkansas-Fort Smith and St. Edward's are just on the outside looking in.
NATIONAL RANKINGS
The Mavericks held steady at No. 10 in the Collegiate Baseball National Poll and moved down to No. 12 in the NCBWA National Poll. The D2Baseballnews.com and Perfect Game polls were not released at the time of publication.
ALUMNI UPDATE
2005 Colorado Mesa Maverick Sergio Romo signed a one-year, three million dollar deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Romo spent the first nine seasons of his big league career with the San Francisco Giants and was recently competed in the World Baseball Classic for Team Mexico, his second WBC appearance.
ON DECK
Colorado Mesa is a shoe in to reach the NCAA South Central Region Tournament but they can seal it with a RMAC Tournament win and will hold out hope they can reach the No. 1 spot in the regional and would host the tournament at Suplizio Field for the fourth straight season. They will find all that out on Sunday during the NCAA Selection Show.Â
