Women's Lacrosse Wins in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY – Lydia Furrow scored five goals to lead the Colorado Mesa University women's lacrosse team to a 20-13 win at Westminster to close the regular season Saturday (April 29).

Amanda Geary, Jessica Cook and Paige Elliot all finished with hat tricks for CMU.

CMU scored five of the first seven goals of the contest, but WC scored four straight goals to take a 6-5 lead at 16:54 of the first. Mesa scored five of the final six goals of the half to lead 10-7 at the break.

CMU out-scored WC 10-6 in the second half.

The Mavericks enjoyed a 21-14 edge in draw controls. Mesa led in shots (32-29) and ground balls (19-17).

Kiersten Elder earned the win for CMU making six saves and giving up seven goals. 

Colorado Mesa (12-3, 7-2) will participate in the RMAC Tournament hosted by Regis May 4-7.
