LAST WEEKEND
Colorado Mesa split a four-game series with conference newcomer UCCS last weekend. The Mavericks defeated the Mountain Lions everywhere but on the scoreboard. They owned a .351-.275 batting average advantage and a 3.00-6.19 ERA edge over the weekend combined.
SCOUTING THE SEA LIONS
Point Loma leads the PacWest Conference with a perfect 8-0 record after the first two weeks of action. With the mini two-game series on Monday pitching rotations are sure to be off but the Sea Lions boast a 3.73 team ERA. They are also scoring 7.8 runs per game with their losses coming to national powers Chico State and Cal Poly Pomona.

Redshirt sophomore
Bligh Madris hit for the cycle in the first game of the series against UCCS. He doubled in the first inning, singled in the fifth, homered in the seventh, and tripled in the ninth. The last person to hit for the cycle was
Alex Fife when he accomplished the feat against Regis on April 10, 2015.
RMAC PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Sophomore
Kyle Leahy was named the RMAC Pitcher of the Week for the first time in his career. Leahy pitched a complete game shutout in the third game of the series and allowed just five hits and struck out four. He lowered his season ERA under one at 0.96 ERA.Â
1-2 PUNCH
Kyle Serrano and
Bligh Madris have the top two batting averages in the RMAC at .433 and .456 respectively. They both rank in the top 75 nationwide in the category.Â
GRAB THE LEAD
The Mavericks are 11-0 when leading after the sixth inning and 9-0 when leading after seven innings.Â
RMAC LEADERS
Colorado Mesa isnt just leading the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in the standings but also in both batting (.337 avg.) and pitching (3.86 ERA). They rank third in fielding percentage at .960.
NATIONAL RANKINGS
The Mavericks dropped a few slots to No. 22 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper national poll. They also fell in both the Perfect Game (No. 14) and D2Baseballnews.com (No. 7) after the weekend split with UCCS. They were also receiving votes in the NCBWA poll.Â
THREE BAGGERS
Colorado Mesa is tied for the national lead in triples with 15 this season. They are tied with a pair of regional foes in Lubbock Christian and RMAC rival CSU-Pueblo for the national lead.

ALUMNI UPDATE
2015 Colorado Mesa Maverick Sergio Romo recently signed a one-year, three million dollar deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Romo spent the first nine seasons of his big league career with the San Francisco Giants and was recently named to the World Baseball Classic roster for Team Mexico, his second WBC appearance.

Colorado Mesa will return home for a four-game series with conference rival CSU-Pueblo at Suplizio Field. The Mavericks are 9-3 in their last 12 games against the Pack.
