DURANGO, COLO. – No. 20 Fort Lewis held the Colorado Mesa University men's basketball team to under 40-percent from the field to claim a 90-71 win over the Mavericks Saturday (Feb. 11).
CMU shot 39-percent (25-63) from the field compared to FLC who shot 50-percent (33-65).
The Skyhawks led 45-31 at the half and out-scored Mesa 45-40 in the second half.
Kabir West came off the bench and scored a team-high 18 points shooting 8-of-11 from the field to lead the Mavericks.
James Sylvester added 12, and
CJ Davis scored 10 points.
Brandon Wilson paced the Skyhawks with a game-high 20 points. Rasmus Bach and Joshua Blaylock each finished with 18.
FLC won the rebounding battle 42-31.
The Mavs struggled at the line shooting just 63-percent (14-22). The Skyhawks were nearly automatic making 12-of-13 (92-percent).
Colorado Mesa (7-18, 6-13) will host Black Hills Feb. 18.
