Colorado Mesa University enters conference play this week, riding a four-game win streak. The Mavericks are looking to improve upon their 7-15 conference record from last season as their quest for a championship continues. Their conference schedule begins this week with home games against Western State University and Westminster University.

CMU is riding this four-game win streak behind strong defensive play and distributed scoring from both starters and their bench. Last game against Central Methodist University, the Mavericks finished with six players in double figures. The Mavericks are led by
Emilio Acedo, who is averaging 17.8 points per game.

The Mountaineers are up first on Tuesday night. They come into the game with a 2-4 record on the season. However, they are coming off a close 70-69 win over MidAmerica Nazarene last weekend. WSU is led by senior forward Collin Smith. Smith is averaging 17.2 points per game and 7.0 rebounds.

As for Westminster, they currently sit in third place in the RMAC with a perfect 4-0 record. They are led by senior forward Dayon Goodman who is averaging 31.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. WU is coming into this week's games after going 2-0 this last weekend in the Westminster Thanksgiving Invitational. There they defeated Dickinson State and Seattle Pacific.

CMU will face off against WSU on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. Then on Thursday will be the game against Westminster, which will also begin at 7:30 p.m.
