Women's swimmers up to No. 12 in National Poll heading into home dual

CMU men now ranked 21st

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.— The Colorado Mesa University women's swimming and diving team moved up six spot to No. 12 in the first regular season TYR Top 25 Division II Dual Meet Poll, announced Tuesday by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.

The Maverick women, who were ranked 18th in the preseason poll, are 4-4 in dual meets this season with all four losses coming to Division I opposition.

Meanwhile, the Maverick men slipped two spots to No. 21 after sitting 19th in the preseason poll.  They are 1-3 in duals this season, but have three losses have come against Division I foes.

The Maverick women have not swum competitively since Oct. 28 but will get back to action on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. when they host Western State Colorado in the second half of a home-and-home series with the Mountaineers, who they defeated 180-81 in their last action in Gunnison.

Although it will not be an official contest, the Maverick men will also get some racing practice in an intra-squad scrimmage held concurrently with the women's dual as WSCU does not sponsor a men's program.

A 14-event program for each gender will be contested (schedule below) and live results can be accessed by clicking here. Video only streaming coverage can also be accessed for free by clicking here.

The next national poll will be released on Dec. 19.
