Women's soccer faces toughest challenge yet

October 6 vs. Colorado Christian University:
More set opportunities:

So far this season, the Mavericks have gotten nearly doubled in the corner kicks department. CMU has taken a total of 27 on the year compared to their opponents 46.
Cougars trapped:
CCU is in the midst of a five-game winless streak going back to Sept. 15th. The team is 0-4-1 in those five games and has scored more than one goal only once. The team's lone tie came against CSU-Pueblo where the teams finished at 3-3.
Last Season Matchup:
In the team's lone matchup last season, the Cougars secured a 1-0 lead going into halftime. In the second half the Mavericks were able to score twice in seven minutes, thanks to a long bomb from Mackenzie King and a score off a rebound from Jocelyn Ceccarelli. CMU won the game 2-1 in Lakewood.
All Time Record:
The Mavericks have a 22-8-4 overall record against CCU dating back to 1997. The Mavericks last loss came in 2013 on the road where CMU lost 2-1.
Players to Watch:
Look for Alyssa Regalado and Alexis Allard to play huge roles in this game. Both lead their teams in minutes, with Regalado recording 820 for the season, and Allard having 826.

October 8 vs. No. 14 Colorado School of Mines:
Toughest test of the season:

The Orediggers have not lost since their first game of the season where they fell 1-0 against Texas Woman's University. Since then CSM has outscored opponents 20-2 and have six shut out victories.
Much better at home:
CMU has compiled a 8-3-0 record over the last two seasons when playing at Walker Field.
Tied largest loss:
Last season the Orediggers handed the Mavericks one of their worst losses of the season. CMU went down to Golden and was defeated 3-0. CSM struck fast in the game scoring in the first two minutes of play.
All Time Record:
The Mavericks have not fared well all time against CSM. They hold a 2-12-1 overall record, with their last win coming back in 2007.
Goalkeeper watch:
Emily Signorio and Shannon Mooney look to be the potential starters in this game. Signorio has started the last four games for the Mavericks and has allowed only one goal over those games. Mooney has started all eight games for the Orediggers and has six shutouts and 25 saves to her name.
