Senior running back
David Tann enjoyed his best game of the season last week against Dixie State. The Iowa nativerushed for 206 yards and five touchdowns in the win. His 11 touchdowns on the year rank him sixth in the country. Tann also moved his career yardage total to 2,219 good enough for sixth on the all-time CMU list and just 49 yards behind Marlo Johnson for fifth.
GROUND GAME

Eystin Salum have established themselves as one of the best running game duos in the country. They have led the Mavericks to 1,764 rushing yards and an average of 252 yards rushing per game, both RMAC bests. It also ranks as 10th best in the country.
GROUND STUFFERS
While the offense has had great success on the ground, the Maverick defense has had success stopping the run. Colorado Mesa is allowing just 109 yards of rushing which is best in the RMAC and is 24th best in Division II.

Eystin Salum seems to have a favorite target on each of the three primary downs. On first down, his favorite target is
Peter Anderson (9 catches) with 16 targets while second down his favorite target has been
Virnel Moon (7 catches) with 13 targets. On third down, he has targeted
Josh Brown (6 catches) 11 times.
SACK MASTERS
The Colorado Mesa defense has combined for eight sacks the past two games, vaulting them to the RMAC lead in the category with 2.71 per game. The Mavericks have 20 total sacks on the season with
Blake Nelson leading the way with seven sacks.

Colorado Mesa has fallen in the time of possession battle in every game this season but last week were able to push through with an eight second edge on Dixie State.
NOT LOOKING TOO FAR AHEAD
The Mavericks will return home for their homecoming game against New Mexico Highlands. The game will also be the last regular season home contest for the Mavericks and they will honor their seniors prior to kickoff.
