ST. GEORGE, UTAH – The Colorado Mesa University women's swimming team won all 14 events in a 175-69 win at Dixie State Saturday (Jan. 7).
Mary Saiz led the Mavericks with four wins on the day. She completed the backstroke double winning both the 100 (59.31) and 200 (2:07.66). Saiz was victorious in the 50 free in a time of 24.79.
Saiz swam the opening leg of the 400 medley relay that won in a time of 4:03.04. Other members of the team included
Miranda Reetz,
Eryn Leonard and
Marissa Bradley.
Eryn Leonard won the 100 fly (1:01.14), and
Katelin Staab won the 200 fly (2:13.13).
Candace Rosen won both the 100 free (55.59) and 200 individual medley (2:16.81).
Sam White won both the 100 (1:08.91) and 200 (2:31.18) breaststroke events.
Abi Young won the 500 free in a time of 5:31.81, and Kat Gerstmar finished first in the 1,000 in a time of 11:20.04.
Madeline McClaine took top honors in the 200 individual medley in a time of 2:01.42.
The Mavericks won the final event of the day, the 400 free relay, in a time of 3:43.45.
Colorado Mesa will host Western State Jan. 16.
