ST. GEORGE, UTAH - Colorado Mesa Mavericks had a great battle against Sonoma State Seawolves Thursday (Sept. 8), but barely fell short. Final score between the Mavericks and Seawolves (0-1).
The Mavericks had some good opportunities at the goal, just couldn't get one past the Seawolves goalkeeper Kristen Spears. The Mavericks goalkeeper Janelle Richmond-Buc made five saves, while Spears had three saves.
The Mavericks took nine shots, four of them were taken by Junior
Amanda Wenzel. The Mavericks took three cornerkicks, and the Seawolves took six. Both teams were tied for fouls by the end of regulation.
Colorado Mesa will stay in Utah to face off against Humboldt State Saturday (Sept.10) at 10 am.
