SALT LAKE CITY –
Luis Schraidt scored the game-winning goal for the Colorado Mesa University men's soccer team in a 3-2 RMAC win at Westminster Friday (Sept. 23).
After a scoreless first half, Cristian Alfaro scored 10 seconds into the second half for Westminster.
Roy Abergil tied the game at 1-1 after heading in a cross from
Kevin Del Mazo in the 51
st minute.
Abergil gave the Mavericks their first lead of the game with a penalty kick goal six minutes later.
The Griffins scored a penalty kick of their own in the 66
th minute to tie the game at 2-2.
Luis Schraidt buried a cross from six yards out for his first goal of the year in the 76
th minute.
CMU out-shot WC 9-5 including 7-3 in the second half. The Mavs finished with a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.
Colorado Mesa (3-1-3, 2-0-1) will host South Dakota Mines Sunday (Sept. 25).
