Regis and Chadron On Tap for Volleyball

LAST WEEKEND
Colorado Mesa swept the opening two matches of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference season with wins over Western State Colorado and Westminster. After winning the first two sets, the Mavericks dropped the third set but rebounded to win the fourth against Western State.

The Mavericks swept the Griffins in three sets with Gabriela Dias finishing with a career-high 15 kills and Taylor Woods a season-high four aces.

UPCOMING MATCHES
The Mavericks will embark on their first conference road trip this season when they head to Denver for a showdown with Regis followed by a trip to Nebraska for a match with Chadron State. CMU is 3-2 against Regis in their last five meetings.

CMU is 10-0 in their last ten matches with Chadron State. 

WINNING STREAK
Colorado Mesa extended their win streak to eight matches after the weekend sweep. After dropping their first two matches of the season, the Mavericks have won out. This is their longest win streak since the 2014 season.

ACES
The Mavericks rank second in the RMAC in service aces per set at 1.51. Taylor Woods leads Colorado Mesa in total aces with 11 while Zie Edwards is second with 10.

LIMITING DAMAGE
Colorado Mesa is limiting their opponents to just a .139 attack percentage this season which is tied for first in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Confernce. 

EARLY LEAD
The Mavericks improved to 8-0 on the season when they win the first set. The won set one against Western State 25-20 then defeated Westminster 25-11 in the first set on Saturday.

NATIONAL POLL
Colorado Mesa was receiving votes in the latest AVCA National Poll. The Mavericks lone two losses have come at the hands of the current No. 3 and No. 4 ranked teams.
