Box Score GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Colorado Mines scored runs in five of the eight innings they batted in to defeat the Colorado Mesa Mavericks 11-6 in game two of the three game series between the top two teams in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
After falling behind 6-2 after four innings, Colorado Mesa answered back with three runs in the top half of the fifth inning to cut the Oredigger lead to one run.
Colorado Mines added five runs in the final four innings of play while the Mavericks could only muster one run.
The Mavericks pounded out 18 hits in the game but stranded 11 runners on base.
Zach McLeod ended the game with three hits including his seventh double of the season while
Andrew Contreras also had three hits and drove in three runs.
James Young III also had three hits in the game.
Matt Allen dropped his first decision of the season only lasting two and two-thirds innings. He fell to 5-1.
The RMAC Regular Season Championship will come down to the final day of the season between the Mavericks and Orediggers. First pitch has been moved up to 11am to try and avoid potential weather moving into the area.
