PUEBLO, Colo. – Fourth-ranked Colorado Mesa swept a Saturday doubleheader from the CSU-Pueblo ThunderWolves at Rawlings Field. The Mavericks improved to 31-5 on the season and 21-2 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
The Mavericks used a double steal to score the winning run in the top of the fourth inning to give Colorado Mesa the 3-2 win in game one of the day.
Lane LaCrone laced a one-out triple to center field that ThunderWolf Jordan Godman dove for and missed, allowing the ball to trickle all the way to the wall.

John Ballard stepped to the plate.
Fife broke for second and fell down forcing Pack starter Cameron Weinberg to look at him. In the meantime, LaCrone broke for home and was able to sneak in under a late throw.
Nick Borowski made his first start of the season and didn't disappoint. Borowski went five plus innings and allowed two runs on six hits, walked two and struck out three to move his record to 4-2 on the year.
Senior
Matt Allen pitched the final two innings to earn his first save of the year. Allen allowed just one hit and struck out one.
In the night cap, Colorado Mesa scored five runs in the first and never looked back in a 13-0 win over CSU-Pueblo. The Mavericks pounded out 15 hits including six for extra bases.
Ben Chamberlin went 2-for-3 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. He hit a two-run double in the fifth inning, his seventh double of the season.
The starting pitcher in game one of the day,
Nick Borowski, hit his first home run of the season in the fifth inning. Borowski finished the game 3-for-3 with two runs scored.
Tanner Herdt pitched another gem as he pitched a complete game, one-hit, shutout and moved his record to 7-0.
Herdt ran into some trouble in the first inning as he allowed a walk and the lone hit of the game, a double to put runners on second and third. He struck the next batter out and induced a fly ball to right field for the final out of the inning.
He finished the game with 11 strikeouts.
The two teams will conclude the series tomorrow with a single-nine inning game from Rawlings Field at 12pm.
