DENVER – The Colorado Mesa University woman's lacrosse team fell to No. 16 Regis 11-9 Saturday (April 2).
In the first half, the game was close with RU and CMU trading goals back and forth throughout the half with neither team leading by more than two goals. CMU lead at the end of the half 6-4.
The second half was like the first with CMU and RU trading goals. As the half rolled to a close RU went on a three goal run at the end of the half for the win.
The Mavericks were out shot by the Rangers 32-17 with 10 of the Mavericks shots being on goal and 22 of the Rangers shots being on goal.
Turnovers were an issue for the Mavs as they committed 19 turnovers compared to the Rangers 13.
Regis controlled the draw controls winning 17 of 22.
Regis was able to out-scoop Colorado Mesa on ground balls 21-15.

Ashley Eickhoff led Colorado Mesa in points with four points each. Framer led the Mavs in goals with three.
Jillian Pfeifer started for the Mavs. Pfeifer had 11 goals against and made 11 saves.
