GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa women's lacrosse team earned a 22-7 win over Adams State Sunday (April 10).
CMU started the first half strong with a five goal run. ASU would score five in the half but CMU would lead 11-5 at the half.
Colorado Mesa owned the second half holding Adams State to only two goals and ending the half with eight unanswered goals.
Shots favored the Mavs 38-17. 31 of the Mavs shots were on goal compared to 12 for the Grizzlies.
Colorado Mesa dominated in draw controls winning 20 of 31.
Ground balls favored the Mavericks as they out scooped the Grizzlies 18-12.
The Mavs had six players with three or more points in the game.
Jessica Cook led CMU in goals and points with six goals and eight points.
Ashley Eickhoff and
Lydia Furrow both had hat tricks in the game.
Jillian Pfeifer started the game for the Mavs and made three saves and allowed five goals.
Kady Herzog closed the game allowing two goals and making two saves.
Colorado Mesa (9-3, 4-2) returns to action Saturday (April 16) with a road match at Fort Lewis.
