ALAMOSA, Colo. – Colorado Mesa comes out strong in a win against Adams State 19-3 Saturday (Mar. 5) for first win and first RMAC win of the season.
The Mavericks came out strong in the first half with a 14-1 lead. They then coasted to the win scoring five goals and only allowing the Grizzlies to score two.
Colorado Mesa dominated the Grizzlies in shots 37-11.
The ground ball battle was tight as the Mavericks edged Adams State 19-13.
The Mavs were able to win a majority of the draw controls against the Grizzlies winning 15-5.
10 different Mavericks tallied at least one point and seven finished with three points or more.
Shannon Lynch led the Colorado Mesa with three goals and seven points.
Ashley Eickhoff and
Jessica Cook finished the game with hat tricks of their own.
Jillian Pfeifer started the first half for the Mavs and faced three shots only allowing one goal.
Kady Herzog closed out the game facing five shots and only allowing two goals against.
Colorado Mesa returns to action on Wednesday as they take on Nyack at Walker Field.
