GRAND JUNCTION, COLO. – The Colorado Mesa University beach volleyball team suffered losses to No. 17 South Carolina and New Mexico Friday (March 4).

The Gamecocks won all five matches in straight sets.

Taylor Woods and Erin Perez posted a close match at No. 1 falling to Julia Mannisto and Shannon Williams 21-13, 21-15.

Ali Svorinic and Zie Edwards lost at No. 4 21-13, 21-17.

Mesa fared much better in the 5-0 loss to New Mexico.

Taylor Woods and Erin Perez nearly won the first set at No. 1 before falling 21-19. The duo dropped the second 21-14.

Hana Peterman and Naomi Pinnecoose lost the first set 21-13 at No. 2 and the second set 21-17.

Ali Svorinic and Zie Edwards once again had a close match at No. 4 falling 21-12, 21-19.

Colorado Mesa (0-4) will face Arizona State Saturday (March 4).
